Explores life outside of the major metropolitan areas of Russia. To make this film, we sent a crew on a journey via rail, river and foot to small villages in northeast Russia. Upon reaching their various destinations, the people were gracious and cooperative with the film makers in allowing them to follow the daily rituals of their lives. In RURAL RUSSIA, you won't find arrogance, laziness or those who depend on others to do their work for them. Instead, you will meet people who know how to live off the land and harness its resources to their advantage. There are no major roadways so therefore few cars. There is very little electricity so there are few luxuries such as phones or televisions available to them. What is prevalent, is the closeness of family and friends and a sense of overwhelming pride and strength exhibited by the Russian people.
